Full-Stack Developer

Position Summary

We’re looking for a full-time full stack developer who is interested in working on a wide range of web development projects in a laid back, friendly, and fun work environment.

Blueshoon is a growing web development agency based in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago. We build and manage websites for a client list that ranges from Fortune 100 companies to smaller, local business owners. We are an employee-forward organization that strives to create a safe, fun, and equitable environment for anyone who works with us.

Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining PHP applications using MVC frameworks like Laravel.
Building custom WordPress websites.
Providing website support and management for clients via ticketing system.
General web development, including building landing pages, small web applications, and ecommerce configuration.

Requirements

  • Experience with PHP / MySQL and Laravel or other MVC Frameworks.
  • Some experience with Vue or React or another front end javascript framework.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with HTML/CSS/JS, bonus points for experience with SASS & NPM.
  • Working knowledge of Github

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has some web server (Linux) administration experience.
  • Has familiarity with ecommerce platforms like WooCommerce and Shopify.
  • Has familiarity with Figma.
  • Has familiarity with basic UX/UI principles.
  • Has experience at a development agency or in a web development position.
  • Takes initiative and works hard to find solutions.
  • Has a willingness to learn on their own.
