What’s a blueshoon?

Back in the Aughts our founder, Roy, had a cat named Shamshoon.

Shamshoon was named after the Arabic version of Homer Simpson (Omar Shamshoon).

Eventually, his name was shortened to “Shoon.”

In 2008, when Roy was starting a web development company, he realized he needed an official name when he submitted the Articles of Incorporation.

The previous day he’d been messing around in Photoshop and had painted an image of Shoon and named the file blue-shoon.jpg.

Not realizing he was naming a company that would last 15+ years, he randomly chose the first thing he saw on his screen, the Shoon image file.
